Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT)
Rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) is a short term, direct and action oriented psychotherapy which helps the individuals to deal with the negative emotions like guilt, anxiety, depression etc. The approach targets the irrational, self – defeating beliefs of the individuals that give rise to the negative emotions. It aims to identify such irrational beliefs, challenge their rationality in reality and to replace them with new, positive and more productive beliefs. This will help the individual to develop a new perspective to life.
