Mindful based cognitive therapy (MBCT)
Mindfulness based cognitive therapy is build upon the mindfulness techniques along with the principles of cognitive therapy to help a person recognize and observe their own feelings and to work through them in a healthy manner
MBCT helps the client to acknowledge the thoughts and the behaviors that are troubling them. Once the targeted thoughts are specified the relaxation procedures are used to help deal with the anxiety or the negative emotions that arise and cause stress to the person.
It is beneficial for individuals experiencing negative emotions as it helps to elevate their level of distress. The relaxation techniques once learnt can be applied by the client himself in the future when encountered by the similar circumstances.
